Cross-Border Working Explained: Tax, Pensions, Benefits and Hybrid Working.
Londonderry Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Cross Border Partnership for Employment Services (CBPES) and Dundalk Chamber Of Commerce - Advancing Business Together, invites cross-border workers and employers to an informative webinar examining the financial benefits, obligations and potential pitfalls associated with living and working on different sides of the border.
The session will be facilitated by Martin Casey of Cross Border Solutions, who specialises in advising employees working between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Martin will provide practical guidance on taxation, pensions, benefits and hybrid working, helping attendees better understand how the rules may apply to their individual circumstances. Martin will also answer any specific queries that attendees have.
Topics will include:
- What tax reliefs and benefits could you be entitled to as a cross-border worker?
- Can you contribute towards state pensions in both jurisdictions and receive payments from both when you retire?
- Are there any tax advantages associated with working for either the UK or Irish Government?
- How can cross-border workers avoid the tax and social-security pitfalls associated with hybrid and flexible working?
- Is offering a work-from-home option always the best approach for employers with cross-border staff?
Who should attend?
This webinar will be particularly useful for:
- Employees who live in one jurisdiction and work in the other
- People considering taking up cross-border employment
- Employers and HR professionals managing cross-border workers
- Organisations offering hybrid or flexible working arrangements
- Anyone seeking a clearer understanding of cross-border tax, pension and benefit entitlements
