Dundalk Chamber Hosts Cross Border Seminar on HR Issues for Cross Border Workers & Employers

Dundalk Chamber recently held it is a Cross Border Breakfast Briefing on HR Issues for Cross Border Workers & Employers in Partnership with the Cross Border Partnership for Employment Services (CBPES) in the Carrickdale Hotel. This valuable initiative is a joint effort between the Department for Communities and the Department of Social Protection, aimed at encouraging and supporting cross-border employment.

John McGahon, CEO of Dundalk Chamber, opened the event by thanking CBPES for their ongoing support. He welcomed guest speaker Martin Casey of Cross Border Solutions for taking the time to come to the event and address attendees.

Martin Casey of Cross Border Solutions spoke about turning negatives into positives for your potential cross border employees.  He also discussed making the most of your Tax & Social Security Position as a cross-border worker.  He addressed concerns for Employers and Employees with changing Contracts to work from home.

Brenda McGeeney, CBPES Advisor, reiterated the organisation's commitment to supporting cross-border workers and employers, highlighting the Chamber’s vital role.

Paddy Malone, PRO of Dundalk Chamber and a practicing accountant, confirmed that these issues had been raised on behalf of the Chamber at the Dublin Belfast Economic Conference (DBEC) and with the relevant departments. He noted that these concerns have been included as standard in Dundalk Chamber’s and Chambers Ireland’s budget submissions in recent years.
